This week, Surfin’ relates the story about hams finding a new venue for a public service ham station.
Did you know that Surfin’ is a weekly column published on ARRLWeb that features Web sites related to Amateur Radio, specifically, and radio, in general? If you have any suggestions for Surfin’, please contact WA1LOU using the e-mail link to the right.

Just a brief follow up – to any Home Depot Store who also wants a 2m/440
Ham Radio Antenna, like the Warrenton Oregon store #4023 – do the
following ( on a store by store basis ) …
1) ASSOCIATES (employees): Open My Apron, click on the link for
“theINBOX” which is the message to Home Depot Corporate.
2) Ask for a grant for the Emergency Antenna – please have a 401c3 group
available to receive the grant. Make it attn: Dave Schacher KJ4BWO. They
will process the application, and you should be hearing soon!
3) Dave says any Home Depot Store who applies will be given prompt
consideration. The grant will include antenna purchase, coax, lightning
arrestor, mast, clamps and hardware as well as complete installation. There may be some funds remaining to purchase a radio for a “go-box” as
well … thanks to Dave and Home Depot for making this possible!
