Three weeks ago, I mentioned that C.Crane updated their CCRadio 2E Enhanced so that the default display is now user-programmable, i.e., you can configure it to display the time of day or the radio frequency.
Originally, you had no choice; it displayed the time of day. The radio frequency only showed up when you changed frequency or momentarily when you pushed the Freq button. I prefer to see the frequency displayed rather than the time, so I complained, C.Crane listened and now the display functions the way I like it.
And there’s more!
My 2E Enhanced completed a roundtrip to C.Crane last week where its firmware was updated. So now my radio’s display functions the way I like it, too!
And there’s still more!
I logged a new one with the 2E Enhanced last evening: WFLR on 1570 kc in Dundee, New York, transmitting 5 kW, 217 miles to my west-northwest.
